How I did it: Every week or two I went to the used movie store near where I work. and if they had a Bond movie I didn't own, I'd buy it.And I have to write more, to hit the 150 character minimum, which seems like a stupid thing, but then, this is a very boring thing to have achieved. How I did it: I followed the recipe in a book called Vegan Planet, which has some really great soup recipes in it. My plan was to buy seitan from a store, and use it in a recipe that called for it to be fried in peanut oil, then served up with rice, baby bok choy and hoisin sauce. Read how I did it…
I got my damn keyboard out of the cupboard a couple of months ago, but it had an English power adaptor and I couldn’t use it. So I went to Radio Shack and they had one for $40, which is too much! At least for someone as tight as me.
Anyway I finally went to a charity store and picked one up for $4 and I’m all set up to play my keyboard again.
I played for an hour and was relieved I can still read music to some extent. Had a great time.
I kept coming up with reasons to not do this ride… no car carrier for my bike, rain … anyway today I decided to just do it. I road to the mountain which is about 5km away but up a near vertical hill for half of that, so I was tired by the time I got to the trails. Then I rode to the top of the mountain and back down it, covering over a dozen trails in about 2 hours.
This was a totally awesome day!
I’ve been out pretty much every weekend on my mountain bike, but all I’ve been doing is going to a local skills park. I want to hit the trail, first Burnaby mountain, which is embarrassingly close to my home.
The next goal will be to ride at Whistler…
