It was easier than we expected! The return was a bit disappointing as the US property market sucks, but the process worked out okay and the new owners are people we’re happy to pass it along to.

We only saw Bangkok and Kanchanaburi province, but it was great to be there. Avoid the Avana Hotel—it’s way too far out of Bangkok.
Personally I found Khao San Road a bit much. Too western and so focussed on the party that it seemed easy to miss the local culture. If I were back in Bangkok I’d probably aim to stay in a hostel in Little India.
We weren’t helped by the poor state of the US property market, and our plans to buy a new flat before we got here turned out to be too ambitious. But we’re here. And we’ve got a nice rented place for a few months while we find our feet.
