Summer 2010:
Flew into Albuquerque, New Mexico (#44). Driving tour of the northern half of the state using the interstate and country roads. Stopped in Santa Fe and toured the Capitol then got back on the road and reached southern Colorado by dark. Colorado was a re-visit.
Day 2- took in all the scenery. Garden of the Gods, Pikes Peak and met an old college buddy in Golden.
Day 3- I-70 West through mountains, Rocky Mountain National Park, Coors Brewery Tour, drove up to Cheyenne, Wyoming (#45).
Day 4- left Cheyenne to traveled east to the first town in Nebraska (#46).
Spent the rest of my trip exploring Denver and flew back from there.
I only need Alaska, Hawaii, Idaho and Montana. I can finish the lower 48 this May by running the Coeur D’Alene marathon in Idaho and crossing into Montana.

How I did it: I first got this game when I was in 4th grade and it always was one of my favorites. Even though I played it pretty regularly, I never beat it until 9th grade. It's a good thing I did because my Nintendo died less than 1 year later. My best advice is to forgo using the whistle to warp until you reach a level that you cannot beat. Collect as many clouds and Ps as you can so that when you get to Dark Land, you can sk… Read how I did it…
How I did it: My case was pretty simple. I was hyperthyroid and had to get that taken care of. I was under 150 lbs and at 6 ft tall, that looks pretty bad and yes, I got called anorexic. I really did not change my diet or do anything different except alter my body chemistry. I am now between 160 and 165 and I would like to stay in this range. Read how I did it…
I stopped off in the town of Keokuk, Iowa.
Only 7 to go but it will take at least another 4 years.
Here’s what remains:
2009: fly to Denver (already been to CO) but can check off Wyoming and Nebraska easily and then it’s a long but scenic drive to New Mexico and I can fly home from Albuquerque
2010: run a marathon or half marathon in in Spokane, WA or Couere d’Alene, Idaho and drive to Missoula, Montana. I’ve been to WA but not ID or MT
Then, I need Alaska and Hawaii.
flew into Minneapolis and drove to Fargo, North Dakota for a marathon.
This leaves only 8 to go:
HI, AK, IA, ID, NM, MT,NE,WY.
I’ll need at least 5 separate trips to do this.
