Remember what God’s standard for holiness is? Matthew 5:28 “But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart.”
How unbelievable is that? So “sexual immorality,” according to God’s standard begins in my heart and mind. And what am I, as a christian, supposed to do about it?
1 Corinthians 6:18 “Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a man commits are outside his body, but he who sins sexually sins against his own body.”
How am I supposed to be “salt” and “light” when I have to “flee from sexual immorality” which basically includes any kind of sexual thought?
Quite the conundrum. But I am determined to work through it, by and for the grace of God. I love women, I love my fiancee/girlfriend, but I love God more and I want my heart to be pure so that I can worship Him with my whole heart. So I can say to others with compassion, “I know it’s a tough struggle, but you can beat it.”
I seriously need to work on this one. My brother and I have been trying to go walking at least twice a week, but it’s been tough to do. Between being tired and all the things you do in a week. But anyway, we are planning to go tonight then maybe play some Ghost Recon 2 later! ;-)
