stick to a budget
online budgeting 23 months ago

I read an article in Wired about a site called mint.com that automatically categorizes spending purchases from your different accounts. Just took a look at it. Might be useful for tracking spending changes, but that will take time to tell.

Anyone else used other online budgeting tools they would suggest?

write for a newspaper
Getting editorial essay published 23 months ago

My city’s newspaper accepts essays from readers with certain affiliations or expertise related to the essay. (I think this is somewhat common practice at other newspapers also).

Does anyone have a sense of what kind of affiliation or expertise would have the best chance of being published? I am trying to address a local employment discrimination policy.

Watch a space shuttle launch
so I can't see a launch in Houston.... 23 months ago

but what can I see? Is Mission Control open to the public when there is a shuttle up? Or do they close it off?

Also, is there scheduled training that could be watched? Where do I find out the schedule?

I’ve only been to the Houston Space Center tour on a weekend when there was no shuttle up. I’d love to see the place with people at work.
