identify 101 things that make me happy
Untitled 17 months ago

1. My two wonderful kids- Chad and Evan. They are growing up to be brilliant, kind, handsome little guys.

2. My family- As much as they sometimes annoy me, they are always here for me and have helped me with so much. They are all pretty awesome.

3. My friends- I honestly think I have some of the best friends a girl can have. Some of them have been my friends since we were just little girls and a few I’ve met only in the last few years but they are all great!

4. Makeup- My passion, obsession! I absolutely love playing- I mean, experimenting- with makeup. Nothing helps perk me up more than a trip to a MAC store or Sephora. I would be completely bored without it.

4. Health care- At least access to good, quality health care. I am thankful it is something that my children and I have. Although we might take it for granted at times, it really is a wonderful thing to have that many people around the world don’t.

5. Sleep- the more, the better.

6. Dancing- A great way to have fun with my friends, get some exercise, and relieve stress.

7. 80’s New Wave Music- To some it may be cheesy, but to me, it’s a blast from the past, bringing happy childhood memories.

8. Mint N’ Chip ice cream- I’ll take almost any brand but I definitely love and prefer it from Coldstone.

9. Long, hot showers- They just feel soooo good.

10. Peep toe heels- They are just beautiful and make me feel like a woman.

11. The Internet- I can’t even imagine how we all lived without it. Anything is possible with it- you can shop while also finding a husband!

12. Accomplishing a goal- A great feeling!

13. Receiving a compliment- It doesn’t matter whether it’s someone I know or a complete stranger…it never fails to brighten my day.

14. Listening to Morrissey- Moz songs have a way of making me feel happy, sad, and nostalgic (sometimes all at once!) and his words are absolutely poetic genius.

15. Laughing until I cry- Doesn’t happen as often as I would like but when it does, man, does it feel great!

16. Massages- I’m a sucker for them. I’m always so tense that when I have the opportunity to get one, I’m in heaven.

17. A good book- I love snuggling up in my bed and reading a good book.

18. Eskimo kisses- So sweet and intimate and brings back some wonderful memories.

19. Old TV shows- The Munsters, I Love Lucy, Gilligan’s Island, The Brady Bunch, Bewitched, Gidget, etc….they just don’t make them like they used too and every time I catch one of these shows, I am elated.

20. Making lists- Can’t you tell?

21. A clean house- I love organizing and a clean, organized home makes me feels so relaxed.

22. Finding an awesome sale- I love finding cool things, especially when their on sale.

23. Cedar- The smell of cedar is my favorite scent ever.

24. Roller coasters- They are so awesome and thrilling.

25. The beach- The sun, salt, and water make for a blissful day.

26. A cold beer- Sometimes they just taste so good- especially a cold Bud Light or Newcastle.

27. Looking at old photos- A trip down memory lane…I love the nostalgia from looking at old pictures.

28. Air conditioning- something we often take for granted but can you imagine surviving 100+ temperatures without it?

29. Getting an “A” in a class- It feels so good knowing all of my hard work has paid off.

30. Freshly washed sheets- I love getting into a nice clean bed.

invest in MAC makeup

I am a firm believer in getting what you pay for…so I stopped buying “cheap” makeup and started buying only high end brands, mostly MAC. I absolutely love it. It’s well worth it.

Take my kids on a special trip at least twice a year
Untitled 17 months ago

The kids and I have been sticking to this goal for the past two years. The reason behind it is simple- I want to give my boys meaningful experiences and memories rather than just material items. I want to help them see the world and have new experiences. So far we’ve only explored nearby places but one day, I hope to take them on some trips further across the country and abroad. Last year, we went to Legoland in Carlsbad. We also went to Huntington Beach several times as well as Knotts Berry Farm. This year, we’ve gone to Disneyland and Disneyland California Adventure, the beach, and we will be visiting Discovery Science Center in Anaheim.

*Update for 2009- We’ve gone to the San Diego Zoo, Wild Animal Park, a weekend away in Big Bear, the IMAX theatre and Boomers FunPark, and a weekend trip to Kingman, AZ. We’ve exceeded our goal!
