How I did it: Ever since I took a class on kayaking a few years ago I decided that I had to get my own.  They're quite pricey though, so I kept my eyes open for good deals on used boats.I basically just kept checking craigslist all the time.  About a month or so ago, I found a fantastic package, for a ridiculously low price, but I tried to haggle, and the seller gave it to someone else.  Then a bit later, another boat at another fantasti… Read how I did it…

Bah! 2 weeks ago

This is starting to get annoying. I started over. I stuck to the plan. I made it through week 4. I was feeling pretty good about myself.

Then life happened.

I work at a University. I use the university pool to swim. Hey, it’s free! Well, I got word that my job was in jeopardy due to lack of funding. My awesome supervisor helped me land another job at the same university in a different department. Unfortunately, I now need to start work half an hour earlier in the day. This doesn’t give me time to go to the pool (because it doesn’t open till 7:30), change, warm up, swim, cool down, shower, wash hair, change, get to work in time. So I need to come up with a new plan somehow.

The local high school pool is open earlier, but I’d have to pay for that one and it’s just not as convenient.

Daring book for Girls 6 months ago

So one of the things in the Daring book for Girls was how to do this and work on it.

One part involves doing bridges near a wall and using the wall to help you walk your legs up and over.

Another part involves sticking one leg straight out as you bend back, to act as a counter balance.

I just need to try it now!

Halfway done! I did manage to get a B in my course, so my GPA is still nice and healthy.

Still on course to graduate in the spring of 2011.
