I put it off for years, going to consultations here and there. “Oooh, a difficult one,” they would say. One day, as I was eating a bagel, I realized how difficult it was to chew. My top teeth weren’t meeting my bottom teeth anymore. I knew it was past time.
On a recommendation from a previous boss (who had braces at 50!), I saw one of the top guys in Chicago. He’s the first one who said, “I can do this without surgery”. So I bought a waterpik, said bye-bye to my thoughts of a nest egg, and crossed my fingers that I would have patience to survive: top and bottom braces, palate expander, rubberbands over the course of 1.5 years.

My boyfriend is a clothes horse/fashionisto and doesn’t understand it when I say “I have nothing to wear!”. I think this is because I go shopping and come home with a bunch of clothes that I don’t know how to put them together. And, plus, my weight has fluctuated over the last year.
Here is my starting plan: Store or give away clothes that don’t fit and inventory my wardrobe. Return all items unworn with tags.

Starting Out
I used to read. A lot. When I was little I would hide a flashlight in my room and stay up late (...and they thought I just like to sleep but truth was I was up all night!).
My friend brought over a few books months ago. I am going to start one today!
