I started my quarter sleeve tattoo almost three years ago. Being broke all the time has put this one on hold. I’ve done three sittings so far, and I have the entire outline done and half the wind bars are shaded. Almost all of the cherry blossoms are done and one of the three butterflies are colored in. I think it will take one more sitting to finish this part, but there are two more parts. I need to figure out a way to budget this in, because I don’t want an unfinished tattoo for the next decade.

I haven’t had a cigarette since 11:55 p.m. on Friday, May 1st. Every day, I consciously make the decision to not buy cigarettes. I can’t pinpoint what changed in my mind, it seems like it was a subtle shift in the way I think. I feel pretty confident, even though I’m still early in my abstinence.
I know it’s nice to not smell like an ashtray, to not have that urgent impulse to stop what I’m doing to smoke, to not have to spend that money every day.
