For almost 6 months I’ve been indoor rock climbing 2-4 times a week. I’m improving, albeit slowly, and I can see the shape of my body change and my overall strength increase. I can now easily do 10 modified pushups (no i couldn’t really do these before). The “full” pushup still eludes me but I am closer.

How I did it: After an undergrad in business that I quickly learned was not for me I took a year to decide what I wanted to do with my life. After shadowing an SLP and doing more research I decided that I could see myself in this profession. The problem was that my undergrad didn't provide all of the prerequisite courses for the masters program needed to practice in Canada. I signed up for an extra year at a university and fulfilled t… Read how I did it…
How I did it: We went from jinja, Uganda (reached by bus from Kisumu, Kenya). There is a hostel called Nile River Explorers Backpackers - you can go directly there and they book any kind of adventure you can imagine. They have grade 3 rapids and grade 5 rapids. Since I had never gone rafting I tried to sign up for the grade 3 rapids but they informed me that it was for children lol. So grade 5 it was. It was insane. … Read how I did it…
How I did it: The flight I booked to Nairobi from Toronto stopped in Doha, Qatar. It was the cheapest fight available and happened to be on Qatar Airways. We got in at 6pm their time and had 13 hours to kill. The airport duty free shop stays open all night and that is all they have to offer. We planned ahead and found out through couchsurfing that it was very safe so we decided to try to leave the airport. For $30 we had a… Read how I did it…

I signed a lease today for an apartment ALL TO MYSELF. I never thought I would be the living alone type but I’m getting excited about the prospect of having my own space. Of doing with it what I choose, keeping it as tidy as I want, placing my things however I want, taking up the whole fridge myself. The landlord even said I could paint. Glorious. Less than a month and i’ll trying out living alone.
OSAP = ontario student something something. I forget what it stands for but it is basically money that I owe(d) to the Ontario government as a loan for school. I have been working for 7.5 months and now all of my interest-bearing loans ARE DONE. I still owe my parents a significant chunk of change but they don’t charge interest.
