OK, a new countdown 2 years ago

I requested a second address last night.

Germany this time.

With my first postcard, it only took three weeks betwixt requesting, writing and physically mailing.

The race is on.

How much can I shorten my processing time so as to allow this poor German student to receive a postcard sometime in 2007?

And good grief. What type of social awkwardness makes me freeze up and have to practice what to write on a freaking postcard for goodness sake? It is three inches by five inches. And with the address section, the part I am required to fill is significantly less than that.

So why does it loom so massively like a blank canvas?

I wonder if she would see the humor if I wrote much like a caveman?

Me woman
Me writing you
Me old
Me boring
Who you?
Me sending to you now
Bye bye

Yeah, I didn’t think so. But it’s fun to fantasize. And actually that silly little exercise gave me enough of a release to actually go write my postcard so I guess it worked its magic. It made me giggle, so for what it’s worth, that worked.

Host a dinner party
We host an annual Halloween dinner party 2 years ago

Fabulous and wild.

It entails such a long explanation of the mechanics, yet it is really very simple to put on. Rather than type it all out, I have typed it on my blog.

To read how to throw a crazy dinner, you can read my blog entry on Kattitudes.

Spend Christmas in the snow
I forgot! 2 years ago

The Christmas we lived in Germany, it started snowing on Christmas Eve and snowed all through Christmas.

It was marvelous. Incredible. Wonderful. Amazing.

For a southern girl who grew up in a combination of the American southland (hot) and the Pacific Northwest (rainy), snow is such a novelty.

People keep trying to tell me that it’s going to get old and that I would hate it and so on and so forth. I just cannot see that happening. I love it. I love the cold. I love the nip. I love the wet. I love the melting snow soaking wet shoes. I love the chilled extremities. I LOVED the twinkling lights in the snow.

That was a magical Christmas.
