be confident enough to get a short haircut
Just Say, "Why Not?" 6 months ago

I feel like if you’ve got the “itch” to cut your hair really short, it will never go away until you actually do it, so you might as well get it done! Hopefully, you already have a good stylist who won’t “let” you get an unflattering style done… I wouldn’t have a stylist I’m seeing for the first time cut off all my hair. I also feel like this is a good thing to do before you feel like you “have” to have short hair… say, when you are 60+

Like I said, it’s good to get it out of your system… it’s not a fun thing to grow it out, but at least when go through that (assuming you’ve not kept your hair short) it will help you decide whether or not to do it again (based on the short haircut’s fabulousness)!

My parents loved my hair short: which kind of bugged me! Boyfriend: hated it. One other possible plus: with a short haircut, I was able to go into barbershops (cheaper than beauty salons) for a trim. I suppose you can do that with long hair, but I never did.

Cut my hair really short
Out of Your System 3 years ago

I finally cut my hair very, very short about three years ago. It got a lot of positive response – though because my parents especially liked it, that sort of wanted to make me grow it out!

It was also true that at times I didn’t feel very feminine, and I did grow it out eventually, after keeping it short for a while, once even getting it trimmed up in a barber shop!

I would recommend doing this – I mean, everyone says, “it will grow back.” That’s true, but it takes a long time. But it’s also pretty exhilarating, and like I said in the subject line, it gets it out of your system—
