How I did it: Got into grad school in another country, packed my apartment up, put my stuff in storage, and flew to Germany. Just research a place and what you'll do once you get there, and just go. Don't look back b/c you can ALWAYS go back. There is so much more to see then the midwest in the US. Travel, move, and see the world and experience different cultures, language, food, traditions, and ways of life. Read how I did it…
How I did it: Learn about graduate programs in Germany. Apply. Get in. Get money. Then just do it. So basically do your research and figure out where you want to go. It was only a few hour drive away, and I just casually asked if they had room in their car to take a couple people with them; they said yes.
