I teach a women’s journaling class in the summer. My journals are a hodge podge of paintings, collage, movie tickets…etc..I try to keep a small one with me wherever I go. This picture is a sample from one of my journals.
Here is a collage I made..I don’t know what it has to do with yoga…except that it is a body…and maybe it will help me remember that my body is my temple and I must begin to honor it.
I work out three to five times a week and lift weights. But I always neglect working on my legs on the machines. I would like more muscular thighs this year! I can already bicep curl 25 lbs! I don’t need any more arm work. Those are my feet facing South Mountain in Arizona! Now to get to the rest of the leg!
I made this collage. I can make collages, and I have even sold some, but I CAN’T DRAW! I would like to learn..Or have my boyfriend teach me (he is an artist)
My boyfriend has a grand piano. NO EXCUSE not to learn. I hope to start in the next six months or so.
I miss my son who lives across the country. Yet, I always get too busy to call him on the weekends. He doesn’t respond to emails that often, so I really need to call.
Oh, boy! Doesn’t anyone want to drive anywhere any more? I guess the cost of gasoline prohibits this. But, I would like to leisurely just drive and visit sites. Preferably in my convertible (that I don’t have yet!).
Wow! I can’t believe that no one has written this one down. Getting hugs are great! My mother hugs TREES when there are no people around! HA! If I can’t get one EVERY day, I’ll work on one every other…hee…hee…
I teach literature at a massage school! I am going to sign up for a FREE massage (all I have to pay is the tip!) in the next week or two. I will report back.
My boyfriend, who is an artist, told me about the temples in Angor Wat. He said they are incredible. I want to go there with him!
In about a month, I am hoping that my divorce will be final. But, I also pray that my husband and I (soon to be ex), will find some way to end our relationship on good terms!
I used to submit poems all the time, and I even have THREE pages full of publications, but for some reason I slowed down on it. I HAVE, HOWEVER, SENT OUT AT LEAST A HALF DOZEN POEMS in the last few weeks. NOW, if I can just get some published again. I even sent five poems to The New Yorker! hmmmmmm…..that’s a tough one to get into. But, so fun to dream. I DID get a “maybe” last week from the Missouri Review.
I have never been out of the country. My daughter went to five countries when she was 14. She told me that because I love literature, I would LOVE England..all the nooks and crannies, and literary places to visit. So, I must go there some day!
I have written a children’s book (YOU HAVE WINGS!) that my boyfriend illustrated. So far we have two rejections. But we are still sending it out! Wish us luck!
I have published many poems, some articles, and some fiction in literary journals. BUT…I have never made any money at it. Recently I published an article in a local magazine which lead me to an interview with a famous Pulitzer Prize winning writer. I am hoping that this will lead to paying jobs. I also teach college English…which you would think would help in getting paid work? We’ll see. Maybe writing my dream down will help.
