I want to learn the solo from Locomotive Breath first.

make a budget
Excel is my friend

I wound up creating an elaborate budget and credit tracking system in MS Excel. I love it. I live in it whenever I do anything financial. I don’t even use my checkbook built-in check tracker anymore. I write down checks that I write in my spreadsheet and keep a balance that includes what I intend to pay and what transactions are pending. Stuff that I will have to pay for in the near future goes in there too so that I can plan and have room in my budget. It is a very different kind of budget, but as long as my balance stays above zero, I’m happy.

keep my house clean
my nest

I’m sort of a packrat, but even more than that, I am a nester. I tend to get settled in one place and let things get messy and comfortable. As a college student, though, I need to move all the time! It is frustrating, because I know that if I kept things clean and organized in tupperware or something, it would be a lot easier to move things from place to place. Right now, everything is boxed up in a completely random fashion in a storage locker. I am not looking forward to unpacking all that when I start school in a week or two. Wish me luck…
