How I did it: TENACITY. There are many, many ups and downs. You must know this and you must accept this and be resolute in seeing it through. I had to forgive myself often. How I did it: At times when I knew my stress levels would be low, I began weaning myself off Effexor. I also stopped taking Ambien to sleep. I gave myself time and space to get through this process every time I lowered the dosage. I took the best care of myself as I could, minimized alcohol and caffeine, exercised and drank lots of water.
