I just finished Bel Canto by Ann Patchett which won the Pen/Faulkner award in ‘02. Interesting story about a group taken hostage with one of the group being a renown opera singer. The book was a little dry in places, but all the beauty of music parts were wonderful. Helped me get in touch with just the plain love of music and the incredible gift it is to be able to create music. To be done with enthusiasm and joy and not so much worry about what is perfect.
I’ve always been able to raise my left eyebrow seperately—it does helps you have more facial expressions. I’ve never been able to do this on the right side so I think being able to do this is more than just learning.
