Pinochle is a lot more popular in my (20-something) age group than I originally thought. From people who learned it from grandparents and parents in church basements to folks who learned in college, I’ve met a lot of people who know how to play (or want to learn), so it’s really just a matter of setting nights aside and playing it.
And anyone who needs any help with rules or strategies, let me know. It’s one thing I consider myself pretty good at.

My buddy’s band is looking for a singer and I’m going to try out. I figure if I can knock them dead at karaoke, how much better would it be with original music?
I care about the music, but mostly I just like the feeling I get when I perform.

I’ve been training on an 18-wheeler for the last month. Backing is a mite tricky, but other than that it seems to be going well. It’s just a matter of getting comfortable in my turns and keeping an eye on those mirrors. Oh yeah…and working on backing her in.
