I’ve only gone once about a year and a half ago in the Southern California area and loved it! Next time one thing I may work on is getting more upper body strength. Paddling out past the waves was the biggest trouble I had. Riding the wave, on the other hand, is one hell of an experience!

I just went on my first snowboarding trip yesterday! It was also my first time seeing snow, ever. I primarily self taught myself, so it was a steep leaning curve. At first, maybe for the first 4-6 hours, it was excruciatingly frustrating and I couldn’t control the board AT ALL: steering, speed, or stopping. The conditions were pretty icy at the bottom of the slope too, which didn’t help. But once you get the hang of it, it gets easier and more FUN. The big thing that got me was leaning to distribute my weight to my heels properly. If falling A LOT doesn’t discourage you, then snowboarding is for you. Just be prepared to be sore in the morning!
