I had put on weight and couldn’t seem to shake it. I think there may be some truth to those adages about “once you turn 40.” Anyhow, I couldn’t lose the weight. I once read that the word dieting is so misleading in that we take it to mean it’s a “temporary” thing. The truth is, diet means “a way of life.” So it’s a lifetime committment, not a temporary little jaunt off the usual path. With this in mind, I applied the South Beach diet to my lifestyle and I have never felt better. I still have a little more weight to lose and I don’t see that being a problem.

I started biting/picking at my lips again! Ugh, this time however, I noticed when I began doing it and know that this is a stress trigger. I have chapstick, lip balm and carmex lying around everywhere so I can apply something the moment I am tempted!
Once I began doing my yoga stretches daily, this became much easier. It doesn’t take a lot of time for it to be effective. I’m glad I got back on track with this.
