12. I can’t believe I forgot this:
I went to Dubai! I saw the world’s tallest building, shopped at the world’s largest mall, went to several water parks and beaches, took a desert safari, rode a camel, and so much more. Dubai is a fantastic place! :-)
13. I went to Jeju, a large island that is basically considered Korea’s Hawaii.
14. I climbed Mt. Halla and Mt. Jirisan, the first and third highest mountains in South Korea.
15. I dressed as a mermaid for Halloween.
16. I completed one year at my school without losing my mind. Then they hired me to teach for another year.
17. I’ve volunteered at an orphanage once every month and fed the homeless every weekend with a group called PLUR. Fun experience.
18. I learned how to make an origami crane. Now I need to learn it again because I forgot it again.
19. I went to the DMZ, Korea’s demilitarized zone, which is the most heavily fortified border in the world. I saw some North Korean villages and soldiers, walked through a fantastic tunnel the North secretly built to attack the South, and learned a lot.
I’m embarrassed because I know I have about a million cavities. I haven’t been to the dentist in at least two years. Now I’m really going to get my payback for that- I’m afraid going to a Korean dentist is going to be much worse than an American dentist. They’ll probably chew me out. You dumb foreigner, why didn’t you take better care of your teeth? I brush twice everyday, but don’t floss very much and eat TONS of junk food. :(
Also, you don’t get a private dentist appointment in Korea!! It seems that their chairs are right out in the open. How fantastic for 10 people to watch my awful teeth get cleaned.
Maybe if I go super early in the morning to a small clinic, it won’t be so bad. That’s the plan for tomorrow. Yuck.
