The fence people put the posts up today. They look good and feel solid. They stacked the old fencing in my neighbor’s yard, though. I hope they haul it off tomorrow.

This was my Mom’s album. I hated Nat King Cole when I was a kid. Now I like some of the songs. He has a smooth voice.

Needless to say, I didn’t like it. I’m glad it crawled back out. Ewwww.

I decided to replace the whole side of the fence… 90 feet of fencing. It’s costing me more than I expected, but it’ll be done by professionals with a 1-year warranty. The people who sold me the house put the current fence up. They did a poor job of it. The posts are wobbly, the boards warped and the nails they used weren’t meant to hold big panels of fencing in. I could have had the fence company patch the thing together, but I’m sure it would turn into a constant project to keep the thing together.

Now I have to wait two weeks for them to come out to replace it.

before it gets fixed, I put styrofoam balls and cones on the exposed nails for safety.

Sufficient Grounds was my favorite coffee spot in Little Rock, but I didn’t find it until the day I was leaving. I didn’t have a chance to run my webcam. They heated a cherry cheese danish for me, which made it really good. I also had a bacon, egg and cheese croissant sandwich that was very good. The mocha was far too sweet, so if I ever get to go again, I’d try some tea.

San Francisco Bread Company in Little Rock, AR had okay coffee and fantastic desserts. The wifi was good, and I got to run my webcam. There were quite a few people with laptops there. It felt a lot like a chain, which is okay, but my favorite type of coffeehouse is one with an independent or local feel.

Seems I had to go out of town to make some headway on this goal. Coffee Beanery is in Little Rock, AR. They have sandwiches and soups and desserts as well as coffee. I read a book and surfed a little bit on my iPod.

He’s going to give me an estimate on fixing it. I’m going to ask him to look at the whole fence (not just the part that fell down) and reinforce some sections that are leaning. I thought I’d really hate having to take Lily out back on a leash, but it’s been kinda good. I even saw a possum in the backyard the other night that I wouldn’t have seen otherwise.

I’m learning to play Tom Waits’ “Christmas Card from a Hooker in Minneapolis” on my keyboard and sing at the same time. Something new for me. It’s coming along well.

I had to go to Texarkana to find time to do this, but that’s what I’m doing right now. Webcam and all:

Just yesterday, I expressed concern for my already sagging fence. Then I found it laying on the ground this morning. The hump is where my barbecue grill was trying to keep it up. It was just too much for the barbecue grill.
