I know what is healthy. If I did not eat out with friends and family as part of being a normal social person, I would fare even better. Excuses, excuses. Need to start making the right choices, not the easy ones…

How I did it: I realized that it was too easy to get pulled into that mindless vacuum of endless watching. Part of it was a cost saving measure. I needed cable in my area to get anything more than one snowy channel. Even that went away a couple of months ago. But I also needed to get out and about. Not having a TV to entertain me forced me to read more, go out more....Suddenly there was so much more time for other things.&… Read how I did it…
How I did it: Persistance, hard work, going with the flow and some sorely needed good luck. I applied to everything that I was qualified for. On some level I want to do this because I love animals. Reading up on animals raised for food…..about their life, how they are treated, what the companies do to make a buck, turns my stomach. I eat a lot of nuts and have given up most diary, but over the past year have increased my intake of fish alot.
I don’t know that I am commited enough to do this. Perhaps with much change in other areas of my life, this is just not a high enough priority.
I would like to know what others think. How do you get along in the world of meat eaters?
That is not a bad thing. I used to hate to do anything that made me sweat. Once you get past that and embrace the fact that you may have to get hot and sweaty, it is all good. Trust me if you can start with just a little and work your way up to at least 2-3 times a week, it is SO worth it. You feel so much better. Thing is, you don’t need a fancy gym or equipment. Walk around the block, at the mall, do yard work, even housework at a good pace works up a sweat. Just get moving!!!!!! You will feel great.
