get better at keeping in touch with people who are important to me
Crossing this off

I’m not perfect at this, but I’m better. Sent messages throughout the summer to the people that matter. Not every day, or even every week, but at least a few times, and that’s an improvement.

Working with my other goal of “stop being a perfectionist” and just crossing this off even though I haven’t done what I’d IDEALLY envisioned. Ha!

develop a daily morning routine
Motivation

Unlike many people, I’m not motivated to develop a morning routine because I feel “rushed” in the mornings. I’m motivated because I want to feel more grounded, and go through my day with more purpose. I find that if I don’t make time in the morning to review my goals and objectives, I go through the day without making any progress towards them. And after awhile I realize that I’m not making progress - at least daily progress, which is what I want - towards my dreams. This needs to change!

Some of the most useful tools I’ve found for this are journaling, meditating, prayer, and creating art.

Journaling – Exploration
Journaling lets me see what I’m really thinking, and allows open discussion with myself. When I don’t write about my goals, I don’t examine my motivations or progress almost at all. Writing is essential.

Meditation – Motivation
Meditating helps renew my drive to accomplish goals. I’m able to focus and visualize my goals, which gives me more motivation.

Prayer – Assistance
Praying gives me the sense that I’m not on my own, which is important. It also gives me the sense that I have access to a higher reserve of willpower than I’ll ever have on my own. This gets me through when I’m on my last reserves of determination.

Creating Art – Visualisation
To me, creating art is very similar to meditation. I’m focusing on what it is I want to bring about, and visualising it, and bringing that visualisation into the physical plane. Goal manifestation is the same thing. Creating art makes a goal a little more tangable, which inspires motive. :)

Goal:
Create a morning routine so that I:
- Am more aware and in tune with myself: my strengths, my areas for growth, what inspires me, what I hope to accomplish
- Am able to work towards creating the future that I want for myself
- Am able to say I’ve made physical progress towards my goals by the end of the day :)
