Ok, ran the 5k in 27:13min this morning. Gives me hope that I’ll get down below 25min this year.

When I weighed myself for the first time this year, coming home after the holidays, the scale read 207. I’ve been stuck around 205-210 for the last several years, and have resolved to lose (at least) 10 pounds this year. There’s a weightloss contest at work that’s also providing motivation.
So, I switched a slow-carb diet (eating foods with a low glycemic index, which basically means meats, fish and veggies for me), and have kept up running and working out. (Altho this past week or so, with my grandmother dying and having to travel to the funeral, I’ve neglected the exercise part of this plan).
But anyways, seems to be working so far. Yesterday morning, the scale read 199 for the first time in many many years.
I’m pretty psyched, I think I can get to 10 lbs lost easily.
Ok, so, as of this morning, I’m doing a 28.5 minute 5k (with some hard hills, but still).
My goal this year is to get this 5k course down to under 25 minutes, I think it’s quite doable.
