Lately I’ve been looking around for a reputable arts school and I realise that I have two things to look at.
1. An arts degree is basically your portfolio + some advertising theory. Your portfolio is like your Masters’ thesis.
2. Wondering if a degree in business management (I get a huge tuition grant to offset the cost) is the way to broaden my arts education instead. The downside: there are only three universities to choose from + the courses offered doesn’t really apply to communication design + they are business/marketing courses.
Which is fine for going into design management later but I have a budget (less than $20,000) and will be paying for my own degree on top of my loan repayments every month. Further more, it’s a four year full-time course and I’ll have to resign from my job if I want to study.
