Bought my son a glow-in-the-dark book of constellations – he loves it! Only it doesn’t get dark now until long after his bedtime, so we sit on my bed with the book, turning the lights on and off. Not sure how much actually sinks into my tired brain at the end of the day – I guess I’ll have to go out and play in the dark to find out!

Sprouts!

I’ve got egg cartons lined up across my kitchen counter – coleus, nasturtium, basil, delphinium – all sprouting, though not too many of the nasturtium. I’m afraid a hungry mouse had a feast the night I planted them!
A learning process

I am really trying to make a difference here, but I am amazed at how complicated it can become. The first example that comes to mind – joined the local food coop, bought organic whole wheat pasta for the first time, but it came in a plastic bag! Why not a box that I can recycle? Hmmm…
