So for years I’ve wanted to join the American Red Cross and for whatever reason just never actually put myself out there. So this year after hearing about Hurricane Ike and the devastation in Galveston & Houston, Texas I decided to finally apply to be a volunteer. I’m now approved to be a volunteer and am getting ready to attend the next orientation so I can jump in and lend a hand.

How I did it: I've been wanting a sewing machine forever and my boyfriend's sister bought me one for christmas. It was so thoughtful and unexpected. I can't wait until I get to make something! I think I'm going to make a Steel Curtain for the Steelers Super Bowl! Wish me luck! Read how I did it…
How I did it: My employer offered to pay for me to join an organization for my professional growth, so I chose MPI. I had to fill out an application and submit it for approval! I just found out the other day that it got approved! YAY! Read how I did it…
How I did it: I bought some felt fabric at Joann Fabrics and cut the fabric and started pinning. Once everything was pinned in place it was easy to sew or glue together. I was really rushed last minute so alot of the Cap n Crunch costume was hot glued. But both the gnome hat and the cap n crunch hat were hand sewn. They turned out great... I am already starting to think about my costume for next year! Read how I did it…
