Well, I must say. I have had my fill of fruits and vegetables… But! I have also lost ten pounds! Worth it? You betcha! I end my cleanse this Sunday. Yea! Hard to believe 3 weeks are almost finished and I made it! I did end up having two rolls and one piece of cheese during the entire cleanse period. Which I feel is pretty darn good for me. Now, when I get off, I get to start cooking my healthy recipes at home, with a dose of fast food one day each weekend to keep me sane. But I will be sure to keep up with my fiber intake and Bikram yoga to keep my system in check and keep toxins moving out after my junk food days. And I vow to myself that when I do reach my ideal weight, I will not allow myself to fluctuate over 5 pounds of that weight. Ya know, I gotta keep an eye on me. I can be a trouble maker. ; )
Here are the things that are making me happy about this ~
1. My jeans are baggy! I can’t wait to buy new ones when I reach my goals!
2. I feel better overall, even though I’ve been a little bit weak and sleepy from not much protein.
3. I now know I can accomplish something really difficult. I feel like if I get in a rut again and put on a few little pounds, I know I can suck it up for a couple of weeks to get back to my ideal weight, rather than get depressed and feel hopeless and eat myself into oblivion.
Well, here’s to another couple of months. In no time I will be wearing haute couture dresses and showing off my gams! Whodathunkit!

i’ve decided to make a recipe card binder to use as a menu planning tool. i will make a cute front cover (of course!), and get 3 ring binder pages that will fit let’s say 2 cards per page. I’ll divide it into food type / occassion sections for easy perusal, and have a weekly menu section up front. i can take cards out of the food sections and move into the weekly menu section as i pick what i want to do for the week! sounds like a plan!

I’m on my 8th day of a 21 day nutritional cleanse program, the Standard Process Purification Program (www.standardprocess.com). You drink supplement shakes (including protein), take nutritional cleansing supplements, eat only veggies and fruit plus a small amount of lentils or wild rice each day. They want you to eat twice as many veggies as fruits, and eat half of these uncooked. Cooked veggies can be steamed for 5 minutes. You can have a few Tablespoons of oil for your salads to make dressings with fresh herbs (only natural oils like olive oil, etc.).
I’ve been doing pretty good. Aside from the fact that I found out the 1/2 cup of wild rice permitted per day does not include the delicious Uncle Ben’s rice pilaf I’ve been eating each night. Has to be pure, plain wild rice. No problem, hopefully this hasn’t kept me from getting the benefits.
So, tonight we went to Red Lobster…yes I know, very massochistic. I ordered grilled shrimp with asparagus because the Standard Process rep said I could add lean protein before the 11th day if I was working out regularly. You usually have to wait to add chicken/fish/shrimp until day 11. The torture came when our waitress brought the Cheddar Bay Biscuits. Oh no. Windell hid them behind the appetizer menu on his side of the table, and told me if I ate one, then he would eat awhole molten chocolate lava cake with ice cream by himself. “You wouldn’t want me to do that to myself would you?” he said with his most pitiful expression. : )
Well, I didn’t eat one! And if you knew me, then you’d know this is huge freakin’ deal.
Yea me!
