Just before winter
we see the trees show
their true colours:
the mad yellow of chestnuts
two maples like blood sisters
the orange beech
braver than lipstick
Pushing forty, we vow
that when the time comes
rather than wither
ladylike and white
we will henna our hair
like Colette, we too
will be gold and red
and go out
in a last wild blaze

It’s not even spring yet and I’m not forty… well, I’m not procrastinating this time.

Well, at least lazyness and a tendency to list too many things aren’t gone anywhere. We will see how it’ll be about weather.
This week I’ll try to:
- transcribe the interview;
- watch two or three films in Spanish;
- write a blog post; or two; or three;
- read a Spanish story;
- throw out 25 papers or other things;
- meet J.;
- attend a discussion on feminism;
- dress up for it;
- prepare and send that sample;
- run;
- go to the library;
- clean a bit;
find a notebook for poems;- learn one poem;
- maybe buy a new parfume.

This goal takes 6 years to complete.
Ha.
Anyway, this week I will (try):
finish transcribing the 1st interview;send it to R.;watch that film;ask for the Spanish story;try to read it and figure out if I can do it;- if so, go to the extra class (I read the story but didn’t go to the class);
- write a book review;
- finish the sample;
- send it;
- run;
- transcribe the 2nd interview (at least, start it);
- run again;
clean my floor; write a blog entry.
