I’m English and spent years in Germany.
And I too found that Germans easily complain, but isn’t that because they have high standard? Food, transport, housing and services are just great, makes you spoilt… The English don’t ever dare complain, other than behind someone’s back, so nothing ever changes.

Yes, Northern European weather brings you down and has an impact on mentality. But of all the Northern European countries I’ve lived in, quality of life is got to be the highest in Germany.
