Stick is easy and sensible; it saves gas, and a car with a standard transmission is simpler and easier to maintain. My best advice is to go someplace like a parking lot to learn; if you live in a hilly area (I learned while living in the foothills of the Rockies!), be sure to practice starting heading uphill too – you do NOT want to roll back into the zillion-dollar SUV behind you. The most important thing to do is PRACTICE. My grandmother did it – so can you!

This was a good choice for me; I wouldn’t presume to say that it’s good or bad for another person. The belief system isn’t perfect, any more than any other system, but it has been well worth my time and energy. I find its core philosophy to be in keeping with what I believe; I would not be comfortable with the extreme ends of the Jewish spectrum, but the essentials are an important part of my aspirations. I’d be happy to talk about it with other interested parties – it CAN be difficult to know where to begin, and like any endeavor, it’s sometimes good to talk with someone who’s been there before.
