I finally went on another Meditation retreat. Last month I spent 4 glorious days near Woodstock. I met some really wonderful people and the retreat was meditation + Buddhist teachings. It was my very late summer vacation. I loved every second I was there. The hard part of course is leaving the retreat and re-entering the “real world”. I have been much better about my practice since returning but I am still working on integrating my body, mind and soul and practice the Buddhist philosphy. I made several paintings about the retreat and sold them on the internet. My next ” vacation” will hopefully be a volunteer type vacation where I can practice seva (service).

Went to NYC to celebrate a friend’s birthday. Went to Chinatown ( among other places) and bought a few needed items- of course they were made in China but I have never found a bagua mirror that wasn’t. I added this goal to show my support for Tibet.
I FINALLY FINALLY have mastered pie crust. Saw the newest issue of GOURMET magazine and bought it initially for an article on Maine Lobster and saw a recipe for sour cherry pie. Then by chance saw fresh sour cherries at the Farmer’s market so I thought I would try the recipe. Bought 3 big baskets because the recipe said 6 cups of cherries ( which ended up making enough filling for 2- 9 inch pies. It took me 5 & 1/2 hours from start to finish to make the pie but it came out perfectly the crust and the filling. I served it with real Vanilla Ice Cream- the pie was tart and mixed perfectly with the creaminess of the ice cream. Now that I have mastered my journey with pie I will be taking this off my 43 list of goals as I am eager to add a new goal.
