find a new apartment
New apartment...old roommate 1 month ago

So – I returned to my hometown and moved into a new place with a former roommate. For the past month I’d been living with her and her sister in a tiny little hide-away with one bathroom, no dishwasher and no central heating and air. It wasn’t quite a nightmare – but it was challenging enough. I knew that she wanted to move – so I really didn’t try to make our tiny little house into a home.

Just two weeks ago we found a new place not far from our old place – and it is a dream come true. Two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a patio and tons of sunlight. It’s just the place that I had been dreaming of while I lived in another tiny little hide-away in the middle of New York City. So we filled out an application, got approved and now we are getting all settled in.

Sigh....

My new place is so spacious and beautiful – I’m just so grateful that I live here now!

join (and go to) a gym (read all 3 entries…)
Those exercise DVDs are collecting dust 3 months ago

...and I still need to work out. I do have fitness goals and I would like to lose weight – but truly it’s more about being healthy. In NYC – I can’t help but exercise – I have to walk everywhere. Everyday. I know that I don’t want to go back to a completely sedentary lifestyle once I go back to my hometown – where everyone drives everywhere instead.

My mom was telling me about the low rates one of the local gyms has – so I’m going to check that out. Time to get it together before the summer!

volunteer more
Looking for another project 3 months ago

Now that I’m moving back to my hometown – I definitely want to find a volunteer project to commit myself to. I’ve been doing some research online – and I’m checking out two projects. One involves boxing and delivering food to the elderly in the community who cannot afford groceries – the other is The American Lung Association. I’ve been waiting to get involved in my hometown for a long time and there’s no time like the present.
