i tried to use my free plane ticket provided by US air when they fucked up my entire trip from Boston back to Wilmington.
I booked my free ticket to go to los angeles but when i called a few months later to confirm they said i had lost my seat and that i couldn’t rebook it because it expired. FUCK YOU US AIR. i shall never fly with them again.
when i flew from boston to wilmington, my connecting flight was in la guardia new york. they asked if anyone was willing to give up their seat in return for a free ticket to anywhere in the US. so i gave up my seat since the next flight to wilmington was in a few hours. as the day progressed my flight kept getting pushed back and delayed until eventually it got cancelled. the next flight wasn’t until early the next morning. i was going to just sleep in the airport. the airline would not accomodate me for a hotel or anything, but luckily i ran into someone from my hometown who was house sitting in manhattan and i stayed there. the flight that i took the next morning did not bring me to wilmington, but brought me to washington dc to connect to raleigh nc. in washington my flight to raleigh started getting delayed and then finally got cancelled. this was a few days before xmas and they didn’t have anything available until after xmas. what was i gonna do, wait in the airport for 4 days??? so i ran into a guy that i recognized from my ny—> dc flight. he was heading to wilmington as well and we decided to get a rental car and just drive. it took us 10 hours to get from dc to wilmington due to bumper to bumper traffic outside of dc. but eventually i got home, no thanks to us air.
so if you ever hear them on the intercom asking if you are willing to give up your seat in exchange for a free ticket, i’d advise you NOT to do it.
it’s booked. i was going to use it to get to Los Angeles, and then book another flight from LA to the philippines but that fell through. so now i guess i’m just going to LA?
