I’ve always been a dancer ( and pretty good too ! ) and always loved ballet. I almost went pro when I was a teenager but went through a rebellious stage and quit! ( that’s another story!) Anyway, some of my fondest and strongest memories are of doing dance recitals when I was little. I loved the spangly costumes and learning he routines etc. I still remember the song I had my first ever ballet recital to : It was called ” I’m a little ballerina”. My baby girl is 2 and a half and already taking “baby ballet” at the YMCA. It’s not even real ballet more like pre ballet/movement class. ( there’s not even a ballet barre!) It’s only a half hour and they use lots of fun props like fairy wands, and scarves and ballerina teddy bears. Z is a little shy and this is her first classroom experience so I bring my ballet shoes and take it with her. After the first class, I immediately thought ” I can teach this!”, especially after getting a look at her
“teacher” Miss La-di-da who is at least 250 pounds soaking wet! I don’t know if she was a real dancer and just let herself totally go after child birth ( i kind of doubt it) or what but it’s kind of ironic! Now the PC part of me says “Dance can be enjoyed by everyone no matter what size”-but how may 250 pound real ballerinas do you know? She doesn’t really do any strenuous moves anyway so I guess to doesn’t matter too much , it just looks bad.
Anyway, I found my self thinking ” If she can call herself a dance teacher- so Can I- and I’ve actually had training!
Teaching tiny dancers would be super easy and fun and I’d make sure they learned proper technique and terms especially since they are just starting out!And the best part would be putting on recitals and picking music and costumes and doing the choreography etc.
I guess there are some premade dance teacher syllabuses you can get and cd’s etc so I am looking into putting a class together and find a studio space to rent.

I got a tax refund and decided to use half of it to pay down my credit card debt. I only had 2800 dollars of credit debt but it was still like a huge boulder with my erratic small income. I paid one card off with the highest (29%!) interest rate completely and kept the card open but cut up the card. That alone made my credit score leap up by almost 80 points. getting rid of that was a huge releif and gave me momentum. I was on a roll so I paid down half of the card with the next highest rate.I’m also going to pay half of the last card which only has 500 dollars on it.Then I will try and pay off the new much lower balances asap. Yipee!
after I moved back to Cali I stopped exercising because i was couch surfing for almost 3 months until I found my own place. I really did not have the room or privacy to excercise. Then after I got my own place i was so exhausted i just couldn’t even think about doing it. I would fall asleep trying to put Z to bed and it would be too late when i woke up… Anyway, I am feeling like crap again, waking up stiff etc so i am starting to do some stretching after I wake up and again at night before i go to bed. Then in a few days i’ll try a 10 minute routine with mt denise austin hit the spot video and work back up to the jane fonda hopefully…
