used AJAX with PHP/mySQL on two projects: Gibbity.com and RedRibbon.com.ph. wasn’t easy, but using frameworks like Prototype and Scriptaculous really helped speed up the development process.

i’m already currently doing this gibbity.com, but launching the site is only half the work. getting people to actually use it, apparently, can be pretty darned difficult.
