this year has been a real turning point for me. reading into personal development in various books and websites has done so much to change my perspective in life. there are a lot of blogs that got me excited about my life and convinced me to move forward rather than dwell on the past, which really held me back from truly enjoying each day as it comes.
if it helps, gala darling’s blog (www.galadarling.com) was particularly useful for me on this journey, as it offers a lot of helpful tips and inspiration. i would recommend it to anyone. ;) even though it focuses slightly more on aesthetics (fashion, style etc.) there’s a lot in there that enables you to shift your focus on the positives in life.

How I did it: going to spanish mass, reading spanish texts, listening to spanish music and watching films in spanish. then, i enrolled in beginner's spanish at my university to familiarise myself with the basics, particularly conjugating verbs! i guess a language is really an ongoing thing, but i'm pretty confident now. How I did it: i booked my test before i started studying. having a deadline pushed me more than not having one. i did practive tests every night the week before until i got 100% every night (took a while!). i passed my first test. i was then able to motivate my mother to book hers -she'd been holding it off for a couple of years! :> Read how I did it…
not sure if anyone’s suggested it as of yet, but the spanishpod podcasts (available for free download via itunes) are really helpful, i find. and fun, too! i listen to them whenever i have a free moment. :)
took initiative just last night by digging out all my dad’s old spanish books and cassette tapes. am reading along, and feeling really good about the whole experience because it gives me more confidence to practice with other people.
