My Canon Digital Rebel is great! Feedback is nearly instantaneous, film and developing costs are eliminated, shoebox storage is more manageable, and I don’t have to worry about forgetting to load my film. Be sure to recharge the battery as soon as you come home, keep an extra card and battery with you when you’re out, and have a tripod or monopod handy.

I learned to drive a stick shift in 1970 in a ‘55 Chevy Bel Aire. Wow! Today I drive a 1989 5 speed Nissan Sentra. I’ve never owned an automatic :)
