Match my job and my strengths
A new job that fits 20 months ago

For the last several years, I’ve become more and more frustrated at work. I loved the people and the company, but my actual job was not a good match for me. I didn’t like the work, and I wasn’t very good at it.

Finally, I decided to take a teaching job, although I was concerned about the amount of travel involved. I’ve been teaching for about 6 months now, and I love it. Eventually I may burn out on the travel, but I can’t imagine that I’ll burn out on the teaching.

What a relief to find that I am good at something! I was starting to worry. This was definitely the right goal for me. It is important that your job matches your personal strengths.

Got a job and people rely on me 20 months ago

Two great reasons to get up: (1) I have a great new teaching job that I love and (2) class can’t start without me. And since I left my old job, I am sleeping better. That helps too!

New job is motivating . . . 20 months ago

The biggest reason that I didn’t go to bed on time was that I didn’t care if I got up on time or not. Plus, I expend a lot more (positive) energy in my new job, so I am more tired at night and can go to sleep.
