Quit Smoking
In Process Of... 1 week ago

So I haven’t been in my 43 things for a while now, but I think it is funny that I began quitting smoking a little while back and totally forgot this was on my list. So the way I have been doing it, and trust me every person you talk to will have a way to do it… I just decided one day… which means I found the will. If you don’t have the will there is no way!!! So the first day I tried to see what the amount of cigs I could live with without having crazy cravings in one day. My number ended up being 6. So for two weeks I only smoked 6 cigs a day. And if some days I had 7 or 8 I tried not to beat myself up about it. Next I decided after that two weeks I would cut it down to three cigs a day. Right now I have been smoking 3 a day for one week and three days. I told myself that this step would also take two weeks. And honestly I feel that the first two weeks were the hardest because I was more breaking the habit not the addiction. So today is Wednesday and Sunday is my last smoking day. I really hope Monday goes by with no problems, because if not then I will formulate a new plan including gum or patches or pills… But at least I can say I tried to quit cold turkey first. Wish me luck for Monday!

Update 9 months ago

Still haven’t gotten anywhere in Mr. Murder… probably because it lives at the office. I’m currently reading 800 years of women’s letters. It’s very interesting. Odd Hours was really good, already finished and returned to the owner. 800 years is taking me longer than normal, and I’m not sure if it is because it isn’t a story line and it is more a series of letters, so i really don’t get sucked into it like I do the other books I’ve read… shrugs I’ll probably read another Dean Koontz next…
