I have an awesome palate, and i will work towards someday being a chef.
10 years after introducing 43 Things to the world, we have decided we have met our last goal: completing the incredible experience that has been 43 Things. Please join us in giving one last cheer to all the folks who have shared their goals with the world, as well as all the people who have worked at The Robot Co-op to build this incredible website. We won a Webby Award, published a book, and brought happiness to a lot of people.
Starting today, 43 Things users can export their goals and entries from the site. Starting August 15, we will make the site “read only”. 43 Things users will still be able to view the site and export their content, but we won’t be taking any new content from users. We hope to leave the site up for folks to see and download their content until the end of the year. Ending on New Year’s Eve takes us full circle.
It has been a long ride (one of our original goals was to "build a company that lasts at least 2 years” - we beat that one!) While we wish the site could live on, it has suffered from a number of challenges - changes in how people use the site, the advertising industry, and how search engines view the site. We wish the outcome was different – but we’ve always been realistic about when our goals are met and when they aren't.
As of today, you will be able to download your goals and entries. See more about that on the FAQ page. Thanks for 10 great years of goal-setting and achieving.

Someone will find my blog and like my writing style, and I will write for a small media outlet and then again someone from one of the larger outfits will come along and fall in love with my stuff as well. Shortly after that Iron Chef will call, and i will grciously accept!
Last night my hubby had to go out and work. He left after 9pm!! I decided to be sweet and wait up for him. He got home after midnight, and was pleasently surprised I had waited up :o)
I read a old series I had read one book out of in eigth grade.. It’s called The Dark is Rising series, and it’s five books long.
Eat, Pray, Love
I tried to read Herland which is a 19th century utopian novel. I read about 3/4 of the way through it, and just stopped caring… oh well…
I’ve started reading/doing this journal writing book called Write for Life. I find if very informative, interesting, and self-learning.
I have a kindle on my phone now so also if I’m waiting and don’t have my journal I’m trying to tackle Pride & Prejudice. It’s slow at the start, but I’m hopeing it will draw me in.
So apparently because I was a dumbass in the past now my first step has to be to go talk to a counsler because I’m technically on suspension. It’s funny how suspension can span over years… But at least I know what I want to do now, and I know I can convince a counsler of that as well. I don’t have credit for as many classes as I would have liked, but I am going to try my damnedest to become a Teacher!
I’m on my second attempt to quit smoking cigs. I’m down to about 5 a day. I haven’t done it yet, but I’ve decided to buy the patches and see if that will curb my cravings while I try to break the damn oral/hand fixation. Wish me Luck!
I’m on my 2nd day of my 2nd attempt to quit smoking cold turkery! Wish me luck!
We are about to start talking to the mortgage broker we have chosen. We are pretty sure we can afford a house right now, we’ll just have to see if our credit is good enough, but it is getting pretty exciting!
I just got one for my birthday and I would some day like to get the My Spanish Coach game. I can’t afford Rosetta Stone, but maybe this will learn me a little :o)
Well I just finished the harry potter series so it’s back to Charlie Wilson’s War, because I can’t not finish a book! It’s just not me! After I finish that I will start Relentless by Dean Koontz which my mom bought me for my birthday. And after that I’m going to start on my 1001 books to read before you die with my barnes and noble gift card I got also from my birthday. :o)
I am pretty proud of my husband and I we have been doing a pretty good job of keeping the house clean, but I will never say I’ve done this more because cleaning is a never ending chore. Maybe I’ll be done after I move into my house, because it does specify apartment.. :o)
I can finally cross Mexico off my list… Like I would ever really do that, because it is a wonderful country and going once to one area would not do it justice, but it is my first outside of the US trip! We went to a little town called Mismaloya just south of Puerto Vallarta. We stayed at a resort called Barcelo Preimium De La Jolla De Mismaloya. It is a mouthful, but a wonderful place nonetheless. The resort was all inclusive, and there were talks of problems with the cartels when we went so we pretty much stayed at the resort. They had a buffet for breakfast, lunch, and dinner that changed out the foods. They also had another little place you could eat at at anytime that did more like nachos and tacos fast easy items. The guacomole was the best I’ve ever had! (duh!) We had a romantic fondue dinner on the beach with filet mingion (sp?) cooked in red wine, with chocolate fondue with fresh fruit for desert. We picked the perfect time on accident as well, because we got to watch the sunset over the pacific ocean right before our dinner was served. We rented a jet ski for an hour. I only lasted for 30 mins, and then Greg still brought it back after 45 mins. In the ocean it is just a lot tougher to hold on against the big waves. We did a little exploring on our own down the beach to the buildings left by the movie “The Night of the Iguana”, and we walked around a little in the town of Mismaloya, which takes about two minutes to walk the length of. We did take a Tequila tour which is where I have now found my love of good Tequila. I’m having a birthday party this weekend and I’m picking up a bottle at Spec’s that I’m hoping will taste like the tequila I had on the tour. I did bring back one bottle, but that has been gone for some time now. That one was an Almond flavored Tequila and it tasted like cookies it was so yummy. The one thing I have to say and I will get back on topic is the way their tequila creates this warmth in your chest I finally see why Mexicans love thier Tequila so much. Greg and I also had a couples massage together we did it on a balcony with the wisping white fabric sectioning off the area, and a clear view of the water. I just love the atmosphere of a tropical place, the open airy architechure, and tile everything! The pools were fun we spent most of our time at the swim up bar! The alcohol was also all inclusive, and I did shots like a pro. (I never did shots before Mexico.) We met a lot of interesting ppl from the states, and other countries, and a suprising amount of Canadians. Who were probably the nicest of them all. We became known as the “Newlyweds”, and people were telling us that we would be together forever after only five minutes of speaking with us. We even met people that lived just one exit up from us on the freeway. I even got to see a Mexican style wedding there at the hotel, it was like a circus, grand and colorful, just how I would imagine a Mexican Wedding to look. The Barbacoa Tacos were to die for. And I guess that’s a good enough summary!

Paused on Charlie Wilson’s War, because someone finally let me borow book 5, 6, & 7 of the Harry Potter Series. I am almost half way through book 5 – Order of the Pheonix. I am trying to read them all before all the movies are out, shouldn’t be a problem since six is just now coming out this fall/winter, and they are breaking the 7th book into two movies…
I got a raise! And in times like these just having a job is a blessing, but having taken over a lot more responsibility three months ago being rewarded for that finally is so great!
My timeline is everything works out well is buying a house Summer of 2010. We are 33% towards the amount we want to have to be able to fork over for down pymt, taxes, closing costs, etc. I have also been doing some research on how much house I can get for what we can spend. See what is going for what right now, and I”ll be checking in on that every couple of months to see if I can notice trends or whatever…. Not really sure, but it feels right to do. I just recently got a raise so that will make it a little easier on us as well.
From a recent move and not doing any personal paperwork filing in a while a huge stack had accumulated. So the other day I filed it all in the new temporary system. Temporary because I really really want a file drawer. It would be so much easier to file here and there, instead of having to lug out the big file sorting box that has no labels, and you have to look in each section to find what you are looking for. Someday, Someday I will have what I need, but for now some progress was made and that is always a good thing.
I received the above mentioned cookbook at my bridal shower, and I’ve been looking through it here and there. My husband and I have been taking turns cooking every night, so we are saving money and we are spending time with each other doing stuff instead of staring at the t.v. with our fast food being shoved into our faces. I also bought him The Ultimate Cookie Book also by Better Holmes & Gardens (I’m one of those product loyal ppl ad agencies love). So… So far I have baked Brownies out of the main cookbook and Snickerdoodles out of the Cookie book. I have referred to the Cooking Basics section twice for something I did not know, and found my answers quickly. Greg also referred to a receipie to help grill some ribs he was making and it also answered his question. So there is progress being made.
I am supposed to be an English Teacher. Right now is not the time in my life to be able to achieve my goal, so I will bide my time until the time is right, then I will be a teacher.
I just can’t seem to force myself to do this, especially when my house is so messy and I’m battling to keep that under control. I say I’m going to use cleaning as exercise and never get around to do that either. I’m a mess, hopefully it will get better.
