I’m trying this. I got off my anti-depressant because I think I’m feeling better since we discovered how anemic I was. Apparently you need blood/oxygen to feel good! Anyway taking a break with cymbalta. I was mostly taking it for pain. My muscle/joint pain was cut in half when I started taking iron. Hallelujah! I read that 5 HTP is a precursor to serotonin. It also helps with craving of carbs. Apparently when you crave carbs you are trying to “self medicate” with food to raise your seratonin level. It also helps with sleep. I have noticed that I am craving carbs less and less actually. That sweet roll isn’t calling my name. Caffeine also is less attractive it seems. One cup is plenty now. Hmm. I’m not offering medical advice for anyone here. Just noting how I feel.
She’s someone I trust which is saying a lot because I’ve had mediocre relationships with doctors. Some are great but some are just phoning it in ya know? A rant for another time.
One step closer to feeling like myself. Illness of any kind just kind of steals your time, your “you-ness”. It makes me angry.
