Hey everyone! I haven’t updated here in forever, but I just wanted to chime in and say hi and let everyone know that I started this goal 1 year ago (Sept 1, 2007).
I lost 30 pounds pretty quickly and tried to document my journey on here, so check my previous posts if you are interested. I have actually lost 60 pounds during last year and am proud to say I have kept them off and am continuing to get healthier (and thinner!) week-to-week.
Again, I just wanted to check in and say thanks to everyone here for all the encouragement you gave. That encouragement and sense of community I got on 43Things was critical in helping me achieve the goal.

I actually lost 30 pounds! I did it 4 months (Sept – Dec). Lots of bike riding, a tiny bit of weight lifting and lots of calorie counting. As of Jan. 23 I am actually down closer to 40 pounds since last Sept. and my goal for the new year was to lose another 30 by May 1 (another 4 month period). I am on my way!
I am down 27-28 pounds since September 1. I am glad that the cold weather has not deterred me from my biking routine. I am also glad that my biking routine continues to yeild results for me! Overall this whole eating right/working out thing is getting dangerously close to becoming my actual lifestyle, so that has to be a good thing. It isn’t a chore to do the “right” things everyday anymore.
I have 29 days to lose the remaining 2-3 pounds, so I should accomplish my goal of losing 30 lbs in 4 months! Good luck everybody!
