explore the Bay Area
Fairyland (Oakland, Ca) 3 years ago

I think the best part about living in the bay area is that you can always find something new right around the corner of your house.

When i was little (part of the oakland school district) we went to fairyland pretty often for field trips. It’s a little amusement park that’s located right on Lake Merrit that’s based on fairytales. From Pinochio, peter rabbit, billy goat gruff… they are all there! A big museum, petting zoo, park and playground rolled into one!

A group of us wanted to indulge our inner child and took my 5-year old cousin to Fairyland for an afternoon of fun. Not to mentioned, besides my sister and i, this was everyone’s first visit to fairyland! even tho they have lived in the bay area for most of their childhood!!

It was amazing to see all those relics of my childhoods! The elf blowing bubbles, the alice in wonderland maze…. but The blue whale was closed :( ::sniffle::

We had a great time! But be warned, this is geared toward 0-8 year olds. So all rides (with exception of the train, i think) is limits the rider to be inder 54’’ (i know)

Also, they only admit adults if they are accompaning a child. But it wouldnt be as fun without a little kid to bring you down to their level of innocence ;)

so go… run around, be a kid again!
