June was the last time that I used a relaxer and I am bound and determined to never go back! I have been complaining to my guy that I just don’t know what to do with it and I must be the only one on this planet who has such an intense and frustrating relationship with their hair. Seeing now, how many people seem to have my exact hair texture and wanting to go natural is such a relief. My mom’s hair is similar to mine, but I think that mine is way thicker with tighter curls, so it is hard to talk to her about it (and honestly just makes me more frustrated). I am exacted to try some twists and take them out to see if I can get some texture on my still relaxed part. I just need something to keep my hands away from the clippers! Good luck all!! Any advice for my transition (especially during this phase right now) is greatly appreciated!

How I did it: It helped once I got into ASU to use their resources. It got to a point where I was turning down job offers (definitely an amazing position to be in!). I went into each interview with loads of confidence and belief in myself. Read how I did it…
How I did it: Just went! lol sounds simple enough...but without the help of Paxil, it would have been much harder for me to actually follow through with this goal. I have gone back a couple more times and asked for help from one of the girls during the week. It's a big step in getting through PPD. Plus, when I would get a bit nervous, it was nice to hide behind my knitting. Read how I did it…
How I did it: Just knit and knit and knit until it felt like my fingers were gonna fall off!! lol I have some periods of hiatus, but a couple years later, it's finally finished...aside from tying up some lose ends such as a couple of ends that need to be woven in and I would also like to add a lining to the back of it. But all in all...I'm just happy and proud to have the blanket off needles! Read how I did it…

I’m so excited, I have started my classes at ASU. This semester I will be a Sophomore and then enter into my Jr. year next semester. Should be finish by either Spring or Fall of 2012! Just have to stay focus and work hard.
I started doing this through ancestry.com but found it to be way overwhelming, but also learned a ton and met a couple of cousins as well. I’m going to start again sometime soon.
