After my daughter was born, I hemorrhaged and lost a large amount of blood. It was the frightening thing I’ve ever been through; at times I thought I might die. If the doctors hadn’t been able to stop the bleeding when they did, I would have needed a transfusion. My blood type is somewhat rare, so I was lucky. I don’t want anyone to ever be in that situation and have no options. Now I want to give back and help someone else who may have the same experience someday.

How I did it: I was looking into working from home but didn't know what type of business I wanted to start. A Mary Kay director came to speak to speak to our moms group about self esteem. She didn't try to recruit any of us, and she wasn't there to sell, she just spoke to us about her experiences as a mother of 4. I couldn't stop thinking about it, and a week later I called her and asked her what the business was like. I'm not a… Read how I did it…
How I did it: We started when our son was 7 months old, and at first it was discouraging, but we stuck with it. Then after a couple months, he started doing the signs for "milk" and "eat". Soon after he started signing "more" which became his favorite, and even though he is talking now he still makes the sign when he says it.He also knows "please" and "thank you" which he still uses when he is feeling shy and doesn't want to say it out loud! Now h… Read how I did it…
How I did it: I used to spend all day outside when I was younger. Then jobs & commitments got in the way. After I had my first child, I stopped going outside altogether. We were in a neighborhood where everyone let their dogs run loose all day, so I was nervous to be outside with my baby.Around the time my son learned to walk, we moved to a better area. One day I decided to take him outside and explore, and before I knew it,… Read how I did it…
