I’ve lost 25 pounds in the last 3 months. I used to be frustrated about not fitting into my favorite pants because they’d be too tight. Now I am frustrated about not fitting into them because they are too loose. Wow. I still feel “fat” but the pants sliding off me is proof of the weight loss. While I feel that I look fat still, I do actually physically feel great. The more weight I lose, the bouncier I feel. I have gone from 225 to 200 lbs. Dieting was incredibly hard at the beginning but I’m starting to like it – I took a break from dieting for the holidays, and now I’m oddly happy to be getting back to it.
While I don’t expect the diet to be a lifestyle once I’ve reached my target weight, I do think I’m learning good lifestyle habits from this, which I hope will stay with me. I’m finding it much easier to eat reasonable/smaller portions, and I’m disliking eating very late at night.
One thing that has helped me a great deal in this diet is that my Dr. suggested to not worry about being perfect on the diet every day. He said “If you go out to dinner a couple of nights a week with friends, don’t worry about it. If you’re sticking to it most of the time, you’re doing great.” Not giving up all of my social eating is a huge help!
