Great website to help with garden planning 23 months ago

Here is a great website I just got from the Eatlocalchallenge.
Cornell Vegetable Varieties for Gardeners website: http://vegvariety.cce.cornell.edu. This site helps you compare varieties for your particular area. You can also participate in rating them. Since we’re in prime garden planning season, you might want to check it out.

I've meditated every day for the last 4 days 23 months ago

So far, so good. I’ve meditated for the last 4 days. It is still not a routine yet. I think I may have to trade off the morning crossword for a more reasonable meditation time. I’ve come to realize that accomplishing goals is always a tradeoff of priorities.

Solving the dryer dilemma 23 months ago

Our dryer started squeaking very pathetically and my intrepid husband decided to oil it. There was no manual (it came with the house) so he resorted to online help. When he tried to enter the model number at the site, it required one more digit than our model number had. Sooo, it was 800 number time. After the tech folks stopped laughing (the model was 15 years old and there were apparently no manuals) he found out that it was probably the bearings. Since we are not particularly mechanically inclined and it didn’t seem worth it to have a 15 year old drier repaired, we girded our loins and searched the internet for a new, energy efficient one.

At least we should be able to save some money on electricity, we thought. Guess what? Driers do not have energy stars like refrigs and washing machines since their energy use is about equal. How could this be? It was time to really rethink our priorities.

So, we bought a drying rack and a clothes line. We had been fighting against it for a while (do we want to spend our time doing that?) but our dryer decided that it was time to give it a try. I’ll let you know how we make out
