How I did it: Practice, practice and wayy more practice. I have a practice schedule of 1 1/2 hours on both instruments. It seems like alot but I do 40 minutes on tenor in band, 40 minutes on soprano in my school lessons, then I have private lessons in both and I practice in the morning and at night. I play mostly jazz, so I practice my chords and improv every day, along with practice songs and scales. Read how I did it…
I got my soprano sax today! Its a rental, but its a very nice Selmer model. Ive played for about 2 hours today, and my low notes sound really nice but everything above the high G sounds horrible/doesnt come out. I’ll have to work on that. The transition from tenor to soprano was actually pretty easy, and I’m playing some pretty advanced stuff. But not anything with high notes yet
